HOW CAN WE HELP?
DOMESTIC
SWITCHBOARD
SERVICES FOR
YOUR HOME
Switchboard inspections:
You should have your domestic electrics, including your switchboard, inspected every 10 years. We’ll gauge your switchboard’s overall performance, detect and repair any faults, and ensure your household’s electrical safety with reliable upgrades.
Switchboard upgrades:
Some switchboards, especially those in older homes (20+ years), don’t meet current Australian safety standards. Our fully-trained, licensed electricians will carry out a comprehensive assessment, and advise you if yours needs any modifications or upgrades.
Switchboard faults:
If you’re experiencing any of the issues described above, it’s likely that your switchboard is the source. We can pinpoint the cause of your electrical problems, and provide a quote if we can’t fix them immediately.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
SWITCHBOARD INSPECTIONS & UPGRADES - DOMESTIC ELECTRICAL SERVICES
Are there other reasons to upgrade my switchboard, besides it being old?
Your switchboard will also need upgrading if it’s in an exposed location, trips/short-circuits frequently, or looks generally messy. All these could potentially compromise its safety, so it’s best to get it checked by a qualified electrician.
Why does my switchboard need replacing, and how much will this cost?
Sometimes it’s not possible to upgrade or repair a switchboard – for example, if it’s too old, or presents a high risk of overloading or other major hazard – and the safest option is to replace it. Your best bet is to request one of our electrical contractors to visit your home, who can come and check it out and provide a quotation.
There’s a burning smell coming from my switchboard. What should I do?
A burning smell coming from your switchboard indicates a serious fault. You should contact an emergency electrician as soon as possible.
