Why do I need a preventative maintenance plan?
Aside from stopping major safety hazards before they happen, preventative maintenance ensures all your key electrical assets and systems are kept in good shape. This helps to avoid your business losing custom due to unplanned downtime.
When should I check my equipment to see if it requires repairing?
There are two main parameters to consider: time-based and usage-based. The former denotes checking equipment on a set schedule, for example, weekly or monthly (manufacturer recommendations will be useful, here). The latter simply means you should check equipment based on how likely it is to wear out: if you’re using something every day, you’ll want to inspect it more often.
Are there any aspects of preventative maintenance I and my staff can take care of?
As long as it’s safe to do so, you may want designated members of your team to assist in minor tasks such as cleaning, changing oil/lubricating machinery, and other adjustments to your equipment. If you’re dealing with electrics, though, it’s safest to call one of our licensed professionals.
