Testing and tagging is an essential part of making sure your industrial workplace stays safe and operates smoothly on a day-to-day basis. They’re also required under current Australian regulations for all industrial sites.
HOW WE CAN HELP YOU
Our experienced, fully-qualified industrial electricians take the hassle out of testing and tagging. Firstly, they’ll perform a visual inspection of each electrical appliance and piece of electrical equipment, checking for the usual wear and tear as well as any additional damage that could make it unsafe.
Secondly, they’ll check insulation resistance, polarity, and earth continuity with a specialised device known as a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT).
When an appliance has been thoroughly checked, the electrician will label it. This shows when and by whom it was last tested, and whether it meets current safety requirements.

Can testing and tagging be done at the same time as my usual electrical safety inspection?
Absolutely! We offer testing and tagging, where required, as an inclusive part of our industrial electrical safety inspections.
How often do I need to test and tag?
As long as it’s safe to do so, you may want designated members of your team to assist in minor tasks such as cleaning, changing oil/lubricating machinery, and other adjustments to your equipment. If you’re dealing with electrics, though, it’s safest to call one of our licensed professionals.
What should I do with an appliance that’s marked as unsafe?
Unsafe appliances will be tagged with a “danger” or “do not use” label. They’ll either need to be repaired or replaced before they can be used again. If this happens, don’t worry too much – our electrical contractors can advise you on the best course of action.
